Characteristics of Insurance Crime in Poland

Abstract

Characteristics of insurance crime in Poland includes issues concerning the very definition of insurance fraud, state of insurance crime in Poland and the social acceptance to make this type of crime. There is still no uniform definition of the insurance crime. Since 2001, the Commission on the Prevention of Crime Insurance acting at the Polish Insurance Association prepares a report which attempts to determine the state of crime in the Polish insurance market. From the analysis of data contained in them shows that the number of crime insurance continues to grow. One of the main reasons for the increase of crime insurance is to make the social acceptance of such acts. The fact that Poles do not see the danger in crime insurance is best evidenced by numerous opinion polls conducted in recent years.
