Selected Aspects of Charles de Gaulle’s Politico-Legal Doctrine. Main Inspirations and Propositions

Abstract


The article concentrates on presenting the principal assumptions and ideas of Charles de Gaulle’s politico-legal doctrine. In the first part it shortly describes his biography and the way, de Gaulle influenced French history. In the second part, it analyses the ruling factors that formed the basis of Gaullism, distinguishing his family, French philosophers and politicians as well as experiences he carried out from his life during the Third Republic. Third part focuses on clarification of the most relevant aspects of Gaullism, so the idea of homeland, nation and rule, but also role that should be played by state and its institutions.
