Olena Pehota

Abstract

In recent years, the issue of non-formal education has become very relevant in many countries. The analysis shows that all aspects of political, economic and social development lead to the fact that non-formal education not only confirms its right to exist both in the modern world and Ukraine, but also becomes an integral regulatory component, especially in health issues saving. The pandemic situation has contributed to a wide international interest in the development and implementation of educational programs for adults’ life skills, especially health skills. Current practice shows that health life skills curricula should become a compulsory component of the non-formal adult education system. Better life skills contribute to social and civic activity, self-efficacy and employment opportunities. More broadly, they ensure a comfortable existence in a democratic society, inclusiveness for all. Thus, life skills, including health, are necessary for a person to live in a particular environment in accordance with the conditions of a pandemic and live together in society. Life skills give adults the tools to solve new problems, as well as practically and emotionally support others. Life skills are useful for learners, adults and the communities around them, as well as for communicating and passing on experiences from generation to generation.
