Ana Maria Alves is a teacher-researcher at the Department of Foreign Languages of the School of Education at the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança in Portugal (www.ese.ipb.pt), at the Center for Research in Languages, Literatures, and Cultures (http://www.ua.pt/cllc) at the University of Aveiro. She holds a Ph.D. in culture and a Master's degree in French Studies from the Department of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures (http://www.ua.pt/cllc) at the University of Aveiro. At the Faculty of Arts of the University of Porto, she dedicated herself to two postdoctoral projects. The first research project focused on Migrant Writings – Cosmopolitan Writers and Border Crossers. The second project aimed to highlight situated authors: Between chosen exile and imposed exile, the memory of the forgotten, the invisible. Her research interests include the works of Louis-Ferdinand Céline, contemporary French, Francophone, and allophone literature, Holocaust literature, migrant literature, identity issues, and exilic discourse.
