•  Font:

-  Times New Roman 12

-  Subheadings: Times New Roman 12, bold, numbered and aligned to the left

-  use bold only for titles and headings/subheadings

-  use italics for foreign-language phrases, emphasis and titles of the works discussed in the text

•  Quotations and footnotes:

-  for quotations longer than three lines use Times New Roman 10; single space; separate from the main text as a block quotation

-  all quotations must be cited with name, year and page number following the Chicago Manual of Style 16th ed. – author-date format (stylesheet included in a separate PDF file

- Bibliography at the end of the article should follow the format of Chicago Manual of Style 16th ed. – author-date format

•  Abstract and keywords

-  The abstract should be a total of about 200-300 words maximum. The abstract should be a single paragraph and should follow the style of structured abstracts, but without headings: 1) Background: Place the question addressed in a broad context and highlight the purpose of the study; 2) Methods: Describe briefly the main research methods or theoretical framework applied. 3) Results: Summarize the article's main findings; and 4) Conclusion: Indicate the main conclusions or interpretations. The abstract should be an objective representation of the article: it must not contain results which are not presented and substantiated in the main text and should not exaggerate the main conclusions.

Three to ten pertinent keywords need to be added after the abstract. We recommend that the keywords are specific to the article, yet reasonably common within the subject discipline.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The authors declare that no conflicts of interest exist in relation to the published work.
  3. The work does not infringe on copyright of other parties.
  4. The manuscript has been read and approved by all named authors.
  5. The authors declare that they have no intention of withdrawing their manuscript prior or after the review process when the article has already been accepted for publication (with or without revisions required). The declaration is based on the following regulation included in the Publication Ethics:

Authors can request withdrawal of their manuscript from submission to publication; however, it is not advised unless it is obligatory. The journal editor must be informed with a withdrawal request letter signed by all authors indicating valid rationales. A submitted manuscript will not be withdrawn until a withdrawal request letter has reached the editorial office. Authors must not assume their manuscript has been withdrawn until they have received an acknowledgement letter from the editor’s office. The journal editor does have a responsibility to impose disincentive sanctions, such as payment of the charge, rejection of the articles submitted by same authors etc, on the corresponding author and contributing authors according to international rules for publication ethics if the manuscript is not withdrawn properly, and even if the withdrawal is permitted.

  6. The authors confirm that they are aware of the consequences of any malpractice on their part.
  7. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  8. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  9. The text is double-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  10. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  11. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
