Perfekcjonizm a świadomość własnego wyglądu w mediach społecznościowych wśród osób w okresie wyłaniającej się dorosłości
Streszczenie w języku polskim
W artykule podjęto próbę analizy związku pomiędzy trzema skalami perfekcjonizmu: perfekcjonizmem sztywnym, perfekcjonizmem samokrytycznym i perfekcjonizmem narcystycznym, a świadomością własnego wyglądu w mediach społecznościowych wśród grupy wyłaniających się dorosłych. Ostatecznie liczebność grupy poddanej analizom wynosiła 174 osoby w wieku od 18 do 24 lat. Wykorzystano przetłumaczone na język polski metody: Big Three Perfectionism Scale (BTPS) oraz kwestionariusz Appearance-Related Social Media Consciousness Scale (ASMC). Przeprowadzone analizy rzetelności wykazały satysfakcjonujący poziom zgodności wewnętrznej kwestionariuszy. Potwierdzono sformułowane hipotezy za pomocą analizy regresji liniowej. Wzięto pod uwagę także płeć osób badanych oraz czas spędzany w mediach społecznościowych. Wykazano, że perfekcjonizm samokrytyczny wyjaśnia zmienność wymiaru świadomości własnego wyglądu w mediach społecznościowych w większym stopniu niż perfekcjonizm sztywny. Udowodniono, że niższe nasilenie wymiaru perfekcjonizmu narcystycznego wyjaśnia zmienność w zakresie wymiaru świadomości własnego wyglądu w mediach społecznościowych w mniejszym stopniu niż perfekcjonizm samokrytyczny. Zauważono różnice między przejawianymi stylami perfekcjonizmu w kontekście świadomości wyglądu w mediach społecznościowych wśród kobiet i mężczyzn. Interpretacja uzyskanych danych pozwoliła na opisanie możliwych mechanizmów stojących za takim stanem rzeczy. Są to przypuszczalnie tendencje do porównań z odmiennymi modelami, zaspokajanie potrzeby autowaloryzacji oraz różnice w zakresie celów i motywacji do korzystania z mediów społecznościowych.
