Michał Gąska, Ph.D., is an assistant professor at the Department of Translation Studies and Glottodidactics in the Institute of German Studies, University of Wrocław (Poland). In his research, he concentrates on different aspects of translating third culture elements in literary texts concerning novels written by Dutch writers depicting the realities in the Dutch East Indies in their translations into German, Polish, and English. He locates his research in the anthropocentric translation studies laid down by F. Grucza and subsequently developed by his followers.
