Urszula Terentowicz-Fotyga is Associate Professor of English Literature and Culture at Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin, Poland. She has degrees in English Literature from UMCS and in Culture and Criticism from The University of London. Her main research interests are contemporary cultural theory, semiotics of culture, utopianism, modernist and postmodernist fiction. Her book publications include Dreams, Nightmares and Empty Signifiers: The English Country House in the Contemporary Novel, Semiotyka przestrzeni kobiecych w powieściach Virginii Woolf and Space in Literature (editor). She has published on contemporary dystopia in film and literature, on Lotman’s semiotics of culture and on modernist and contemporary literature.
