Dynamics of the Russian legislation on the Kazakh steppe in the XIX century

Abstract


After capturing the Kazakh Steppe the Russian Empire took legal action to rule those areas effectively. Among others, appropriate decrees were issued, which put administrative structures into life. The author analyses the legislative acts regulating the management structure of the Kazakh Steppe in the 19th century. Also, the administrative system in operation during the reign of Nicolas I, Alexander II and Alexander III is described.
