Register of Expenditures on the Construction and Repairs of Buildings in the Jurydyka of Probostwo, Belonging to the Collegiate church of St. Michael in Lublin, Drawn up by Wincenty Jezierski, Preceptor and Procurator of the Same Collegiate Church

Abstract

Register of expenses for renovations and construction of new facilities in the Rectory jurydyka, belonging to the collegiate church of St. Michael in Lublin, presents the efforts made by priest Wincenty Jezierski, provost and prosecutor of the collegiate chapter, in the years 1787–1799. The edition of the source was preceded by an introduction presenting the person of priest Wincenty and his life path, from the position of land bailiff in Łuków, through university studies in Krakow and subsequent stages of his clerical career (scholasteria in Kamieniec, rectory in Kock and Abramowice, rectory of St. Michael's Collegiate Church) until his death in 1816 in Kamionka. The introduced register is one of the few documents presenting the technical side of Lublin's architecture at that time, by placing specific buildings in a specific topography of the city and listing the types of building materials and the value of the services of individual craftsmen employed in the work performed.
